REVIEW FROM NIC - Great vision for Redding and perfect if you are moving from out of state and you don't want to lug all of your stuff to California. We got to sleep in beds from day 1! Countless opportunities for ministry too, if you're willing to go after them. Our apartments had community together that many other students didn't have, and I really appreciated that.

Short Term Housing 
Prices/Terms

Period Available: We have 2-3 apartments we are making available all year round.  Minimum 30 days.

Short term Monthly Rent Cost : See above 1 month $1,750, 2 months or longer $1,650 a month. (includes utilities but not wifi). Each apartment sleeps 4. Two rooms with two twin beds in each room. If a couple, we can pull together 2 x twins together with a joiner to make 1 x king if needed).  We can guide you on getting set up with internet. Wifi can be hooked up short term by simply phoning Charter Spectrum and runs around $35 a month with a small set up fee.

Security Deposit: Equivalent of one month's rent

For summer tenants, all bed linen can be provided, please bring your own towels. ​

​Please note: When you rent this apartment there will be one lease agreement for those living at the property. If you are coming alone, help can be provided in connecting you with other roommates.

Sequoia Neighborhood

The complex in which the Apartments are situated has 50 apartments operated by a friendly, awesome couple Hilary and Paul whose Grandparents own the complex. Sequoia School is just a block away so this place attracts a lot of families. The make up of people here are largely families, couples, and solo parents. The Management look after the place well and have a stringent screening process for those who live there i.e.  no drugs or felons allowed. This makes it a great and safer place to live. Please be aware that living here you are sharing this 50 plex with many other people that may live a different lifestyle to you. If you are sensitive to hearing noise from another apartment such as  loud voices or walking upstairs, then you might want to think twice about living here. Also to be aware that these apartments were built around the 70's.

One of the strongest aspects of this particular region is that there is already strong community.  Many people have lived here for years and consequently, there are strong networks of people.  In summer when you arrive, they will all be sitting outside, smoking and chatting.....and they will be intently watching all the new students (curiosity?!) 

Through this apartment, there has been incredible momentum developed within our community.  There are so many people which the Bethel team have spoken to and would like to see mentored in a deeper way.  The harvest is so ripe here at Sequoia and people have responded so positively to us.

HELPFUL INFO

Walking to the Civic Just 7 mins walk to the Civic. Walk to North end of Sequoia, turn right onto Butte St, at the lights turn left and walk over highway 44 west. This bring you to the big concrete Civic Center, based near the river and Sundial bridge. 
Getting to the shops I recommend heading over the river to the shops over there – Trader Joes, Walmart, Food max, Winco are all good and affordable supermarkets. The Dollar Tree is nearby too. Safeway is handy for top ups but can be on the more expensive side. 

Sequoia Apartments

The perfect location for first year Bethel students, especially those without a car. You can’t get any closer to the first year campus, just 5-7 mins walk to the Civic and river trail (great for prayer walks!). There are 50 units in this multi-plex and a pool where you can be refreshed in the heat of the summer. There are lots of families/solo parents here so we would love to have those with a heart for children/families. The Owner/Managers have a big heart for all their tenants and make sure things run smoothly. There are seven apartments in this complex that I rent and sublet. The layout in all of the apartments (except for a one bedroom apartment) is the same with two bedrooms, one bath. The rooms have two beds in each so are rented out as shared making four people in each apartment. The price includes all furniture and fully equipped kitchen. Note, towels and sheets are NOT included for the 10 month term, please bring your own. The Evangelism Home Gathering is held weekly over the School Term and usually in the guys apartment #1.
