REVIEW FROM RACHEL 2/28/20:
Living on east street has enhanced my BSSM first year experience richly. The location is perfect as the apartments are a quick walk to the civic whilst also being close to safeway, the library, the RABA station and other key places in Redding. Karina and her team have been friendly and welcoming as soon as I initially contacted them about the apartments. They are quick in responding and fixing any minor issues their tenants experience and in their response they hold the tenants best interest as a priority. I was really taken back by the warm reception I received upon arrival and I feel like her team are intentional in caring for and establishing a healthy rapport with all their tenants. The apartment are fully furnished, including a washer and a dryer which has been a real blessing. Upon arrival I immediately felt at ease because I saw how well equipped the apartment was. The decor of the apartment also has allowed me to feel a sense of homeliness. MESSAGE FROM THOSE LIVING AT EAST STREET 5/5/20 We just want to take a moment to say thank you! Matt, you have carried a wonderful heart to help and with great humility you have used various skills the Lord has given you. Karina, you have treated us with wonderful grace and honor during our time here. For both of you, we want to honor your vision of planting this complex and others in parts of the city that really need love, and demonstrating a beautiful heart for evangelism as you have partnered with neighborhood impact. Praise God that as you continue in this mission the soil will continue to be turned and harvest will continue to grow. |
REVIEW FROM ANJELICA 2/25/20:
East 1 has been a great stay for me! The unity and community that all the east apartments have devolved has been a big part of my living in Redding. We go to Whiskey Town Lake together, have had BBQ's in the back and even when I'm a friend in need my neighbors, now friends have been there for me. This year wouldn't have been the same if it wasn't for this apartment and the people living near me. it's a cute place too! As far as the apartments they are all fully furnished and the perfect space inside. 3 bedrooms and 1 bath right in the center of Downtown. The grocery market is a 3 minute walk down the road which makes shopping convenient. If you are going to first year, or want caring and welcoming rental experience this is the apartment to rent! REVIEW FROM CANDACE 3/6/2020: Living at East 3 has been wonderful! Hands down the best renters experience I have ever had. Karina Paine and her team are so incredibly, warm and welcoming, as well as extremely responsive and helpful. The apartments are fully furnished with all the amenities, which was already super amazing. In addition the apartments are decorated which creates a sense of homeliness. The apartments are centrally located so you can pretty much go anywhere you need in a short amount of time. The community at East has been so incredible and such a blessing. I have truly loved my stay here at East Street. |

East St NeighborhoodEast St is situated downtown on the West side of Redding, and from the apartments is about 25 mins walk to the Civic where first year BSSM classes are held. The street has mixed housing - houses and apartments of varying levels, some a little rougher, some nice. Safeway supermarket and Starbucks is just a block away, other downtown shops and good cafes (Evergreen/Brew) are a few blocks up.
This neighborhood isn't designated by BSSM as an official outreach neighborhood. 'The Mission' (housing for the homeless) is about 1 mile up the road, so you do get some homeless walking by. There is opportunity to continue running a Home Gathering here and invite not just the neighbors along, but also some of the homeless that walk past. The East St 4-plex is owned by Matt and Karina. The whole complex houses Bethel students in furnished housing, There are 6 off street parking spots. Vision
